A82 Road (Glasgow to Inverness)

This 167 mile (269km) long scenic road stretches from Glasgow to Inverness via Fort William. Mountains rising right and left of the road and numerous twists and turns await along the way, as well as the shores of the famous Loch Ness and Loch Lomond. Besides the stunning natural surroundings, there are plenty of attractions for stop overs, which include castles and climbing opportunities. Mind, however, that the road is regarded as one of the most dangerous routes in Scotland.

Do & See

Glasgow has a wide selection of museums and galleries, many of which are free of charge to enter. In a way, the city itself is an open-air museum for architecture with a special focus on the works of the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. To get a good view of the city from above, climb one of the many hills Glasgow was built upon: some of the best bird's-eye views uncover from the Necropolis.
